报告题目: Efficient spectral methods for elliptic PDEs in domains of complex geometry

摘要: An efficient spectral solver is developed for elliptic partial differential equations in complex domains. By a fictitious domain approach, an extended problem is built by embedding the original domain into an enlarged and regular one. Two types of Petrov-Galerkin formulations with special trial and test functions are presented and analyzed. A fast algorithm is developed for solving the corresponding linear system. We present ample numerical results to show the efficiency and accuracy of this approach.

报告人介绍: 顾亦奇博士, 是浙江大学数学科学学院2012届(08级)信息与计算科学专业优秀毕业生。先后在美国华盛顿大学和普渡大学攻读硕士与博士学位,博士导师沈捷教授。他的研究方向主要为微分方程数值解,计算流体力学,数据科学和机器学习。
