On April 4, 2018, the delegation led by Prof. WEN Jiwei, Secretary of the Party Committee School of Mathematical Sciences, ZJU paid a visit to Department of Mathematics and Department of Statistics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prof. SHAO Qiman, Prof. LIN Yuanyuan, Prof. FANG Xiao and Prof. CHEN Hanfu held a welcome ceremony and arranged a meeting to improve friendly relationship between two institutes.
On the welcome ceremony, Prof. SHAO Qiman, Department head of Department of Statistics at CUHK and other professors expressed their warm welcome to ZJU’s delegation. Subsequently, Prof. SHAO and Prof. CHEN introduced the basic situation of the two departmants and CUHK. Two professors gave high praises to ZJU students and encouraged undergraduates to apply for Ph.D. and master's programs.
On behalf of delegation from ZJU, Prof. WEN Jiwei expressed thanks to CUHK, and he said that we hope the institutes can work together to promote further cooperation and exchange in the future. School of Mathematical Sciences, ZJU signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with CUHK and the first step of the exchange activity concluded successfully.
After the meeting, the exchange and learning activities in CUHK were officially launched. According to the subject timetable provided by Department of Mathematicas and Department of Statistics, CUHK, Students from ZJU can choose courses and attend the classes during the exchange. On the morning of April 14, under the guidance of a student named LI Ziyang, the delegation from ZJU visited CUHK's campus by school bus. In the afternoon, led by Ms. Chen and Mr. Xu, the delegation had a talk with several students from Department of Mathematics and Department of Statistics, CUHK.
On the morning of April 21, the delegation of ZJU went back to Hangzhou and the exchange activity came to a successful end.
